Thirty-seven years ago, we went to Bermuda on our honeymoon. Hubby carried me through a moongate. We went on a rum-swizzle cruise. We rented motor scooters and zipped around the island. We toured the caves, the fort, and the perfume factory. We tried snorkeling.
It was great fun!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?

91 ayiedcdOh, dear, my car got wrecked two days before we got married, so all plans for a honeymoon went down the tubes. Seven months or so later we went to Florida, saw Disneyworld, stayed with his parents...it was worth it, even if his mother ended up in the hospital and I ended up having to cook Easter dinner.... But I remember it oh so fondly.
Mark:
Thanks. :-)

A wrecked car is a tough way to start out. :-(
Glad you got to enjoy Disneyworld even if it was seven months later. Fond memories are the best kind. :-)
Marvellous picture. It could almost make a book cover. We had a winter honeymoon-went to a lodge and outsmarted ourselves. We hid our luggage from friends who might sabotage it and then, when waiting for our car to warm up, forgot to transfer it. Imagine a honeymoon with not even a toothbrush!
Sharon:
I can't imagine a honeymoon without luggage. I guess it made for some real togetherness.:-)
We didn't have a honeymoon. We married on a Thursday, packed our meager belongings on Friday, drove to our new home on Saturday, and my husband preached his first sermon in his first church on Sunday. I think we are having one at this stage in life.

A honeymoon is good at any stage in life. :-)
It's all about togetherness and happy memories. Honeymoons don't have to be in exotic locales either.
When I was nearly grown up, my parents took me and my siblings to the cabin where they spent their honeymoon. It was charming and perfect for the two of them. :-)
Penelope, This is so exciting to see you under the moon gate. I also love Bermuda. I didn't honeymoon there but my husband and I spent about 10 vacations there either by ourselves, with friends or with our family. The Wild Rose Press just released my romantic thriller/historical "Under the Moon Gate," which is set in contemporary and WW II Bermuda. On the cover is a beautiful moon gate. Hope you'll take a look at it. http://www.amazon.com/Under-Moon-Gate-Marilyn-Baron/dp/1612177875/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377192183&sr=8-1&keywords=under+the+moon+gate
