What Happened to Summer?

That's me, in my early twenties, trying to do a watercolor painting on Sandy Hook of the Life Saving Station. My mother, my sisters, and my BFF were with me--although only Ma and I were serious about painting. :-)

It was a great summertime activity.

Somehow, summers in the past seemed longer. This one went by rather quickly. Hubby suddenly realized it's almost over and he didn't do all his favorite summertime things yet. Part of the reason was our car troubles.

Then there's me and my edits. It's nice to have a bunch of books up for sale, but behind every release there are many hours spent in front of the computer.

So this year, we missed some of summer's delights.

How about you? Did you enjoy the summer? What summer opportunities did you miss out on this year?

For me, summer is half way over when the days start getting shorter.. Summer is always too short.
But it seems like every year is getting shorter.

Maybe it's just old age. :-)

Time seems to go faster the older I get. When I was a kid, time went soooo slowly.

Summer is short--but autumn is a lovely time of year.

When you spend ten hours a day in your ice cream shop, summer just melts away. I don't get a chance to miss mine till it's gone and then I just head someplace warm in January. That's my summer!

I wouldn't mind going someplace warm in January. That sounds great. :-)
