Playing With Photoshop

I have an ancient version of Photoshop. Mostly, I use it to fix red eyes in photographs--but there is a lot more the program can do. I wanted to superimpose one photograph onto another and layer a transparent image onto a solid image.

Using the Help menu in Photoshop, did not help me. Instead, I found clear, concise answers from other people online. The internet is a wonderful thing.

So after an evening of fooling around, I can now place a giant woolly bear caterpillar on a bridge. This is wonderful because I have an idea for a book cover. No, the book cover will not be an image of a woolly bear on a bridge. That is simply practice, but it is a lot of fun. :^)

Cool! If I self pub maybe I can get my son to try this for me... he knows photoshop and has made me graphics, but covers are a whole other topic.... I'm sure he can do it though. Are you using stock photos or buying from a site?

Another thing is look on Youtube for videos on your subject. There's how-to videos on everything.

Ancient Photoshop? Like the caveman used? I have an ancient version of Paint Shop Pro, which is what Adam and Eve had in the Garden Of Eden.

Dottie,

I'll be using purchased stock photos for my book cover so I'll have all the rights. I've already picked out the ones I want. :^)

Mark,

Yes, I know about the how-to videos on Youtube. They are really good. My sister learned out to fix kitchen chairs from Youtube. :^)

My ancient Photoshop is probably less confusing than newer versions. Adam and Eve could handle it I'm sure. :^)

Louann,

Have a good time. :^)

And don't forget to post photos of what you come up with.

That's so cute! LOL
I agree about the internet being the place to find real answers from real people. You can find anything! One time I could not get one of those handcream pump bottles to work. The pump part would not pop up. (I'm not dumb. It didn't work like they usually do.) I googled around and found an answer.

Amanda,

Glad you found the answer to your pump problem. Once, I had a printer problem and I found the answer online, too.

The internet is the best!
